Parents & Toddlers Sessions

A weekly playgroup for Parents & Toddlers in Amsterdam

At the Garden, our rhythms are rooted in the holistic wisdom of the Waldorf education, nurturing your child’s intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual development. We blossom alongside the seasons, following the primary school holidays. Wooden toys, crafting, and baking spark playtime joy for littles, while parents connect and build community.

  • 2 hrs/week for a season
  • Bread roll baking & singing songs
  • Open-ended play with natural toys
  • Connecting with other caregivers

Following the rhythm
of the seasons.

Each season has its beauty and challenges. It’s the cycle of nature and life.

To help the little ones appreciate and see the beauty in nature’s cycles our activities are aligned with the seasons. Through crafting with autumn leaves, singing songs of spring's arrival, and countless other seasonal explorations, we spark a love for learning, nature and play.

FAQs

What is the program during the parent-toddler session?
Each week, you and your little one will bake bread, sing, and enjoy open-ended play with natural toys, while connecting with other caregivers. It’s a wonderful way to be fully in tune with your little one and grow together!
What happens if there is no spot available for us?
If no spots are available when you contact us, we will add you to our WhatsApp Waiting Room for your child’s age group. Two weeks before the start of a new term, we hold a raffle in the group to allocate any open spots fairly. Occasionally, parents also post single sessions they can’t attend — a lovely way to get a taste before joining a term.
Is there a waiting list I can join?
We don’t use a waiting list. Instead, we have a WhatsApp Waiting Room for each age group. Two weeks before the start of a new term, we hold a raffle there to allocate any available spots fairly. Parents sometimes also share single sessions they can’t attend, which can be a gentle way to try a class before committing.
How can I join the Waiting Room?
To join the Waiting Room, please contact us directly and we’ll share the link to the WhatsApp group for your child’s age. Two weeks before the start of each new term, we hold a raffle in the group to allocate any open spots fairly. You might also see single sessions shared by parents who can’t attend.
My child has a sibling under 12 Months. Can we bring them with us?
Little ones under 12 months are always welcome to join you free of charge and can explore the garden alongside you.
Do I automatically have a spot in the next season?
Yes — your child’s place in our playgroup automatically renews for the following season, so their journey of exploration and growth continues without interruption.
What happens if I miss a class?
If you miss a class, we can try to arrange one make-up session each term in another available group. Just let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. If rescheduling isn’t possible, you’re welcome to transfer or sell your spot to another family through The Mallow Garden group chat, or gift it to a friend or family member.
What if I decide it’s not right for me?
If you feel it’s not right for you or your child after the first two sessions, you can cancel your participation. We’ll issue a refund, deducting the cost of the first two sessions, once you notify us.
What if I have an upcoming holiday planned?
If you have a holiday planned, please let us know in advance. Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds for missed classes, but we’ll do our best to help you find an alternative.
How can I cancel my membership?
If you wish to stop your membership, please let us know at least two weeks before the end of the term.
Can I try a session before committing?
We don’t offer single trial sessions. However, if you attend the first two sessions and decide it’s not the right fit, you can cancel and receive a refund, minus the cost of those two sessions.
How do I contact The Mallow Garden for more information?
We’re here to help - the easiest way to reach us is via WhatsApp. We look forward to hearing from you
